Storms continue across NT Top End and in SW Qld
The weak monsoonal trough lying off Northern Territory's north coast continued to produce isolated heavy storms across the Top End today. Meanwhile, the weak thermal trough responsible for heavy rain in SA yesterday moved to SW Queensland today, giving some high totals. Thargomindah recorded 55mm between noon and 9pm as a succession of storms passed over the settlement. Other significant figures are given in the extremes box below.
