Further cold mornings across the continent
Early morning minimum temperatures were between 4 and 11 below normal over most of the continent today.
The cold spell continued to produce very low morning minimum temperatures across much of the continent today with all except Victoria and parts of southern WA reporting below normal figures. The greatest departures below normal were again in the far north. Darwin Airport's 12.5 was the lowest on record so early in winter (the same was true of yesterday's 13.8!), and the second lowest on record for June following 12.1 on 23 June 1963. Canberra Airport's -7 was the city's lowest June temperature since -7.7 was recorded in 1986.
