About Australian Weather News |
| Top temperatures were again 8 to 13° above average across southern SA today as warm northerlies ducted hot desert air southeastwards. A vigorous front/trough system entered the state during the afternoon, surprisingly bringing no reports of thunder but some strong wind gusts with the wind change. Oodnadatta airport in the state's north registered a 106km/h gust while Cape Willoughby, at the eastern end of Kangaroo Island, recorded 93km/h. In Victoria and Tasmania, top temperatures were 8 to 10 above average, with Mt Wellington summit behind Hobart recording its warmest April day in the 15 years since the AWS began operating. |
