Storms bring hail, heavy rain west of Sydney
Gales continue in Tasmania
The front that brought strong winds to Victoria and Tasmania yesterday stagnated off the NSW Central Coast this morning. Several thunderstorms developed behind the front. One, which tracked ENE from around Mt Victoria mid afternoon gave hail to 2½cm on the Darling Causeway north of Mt Victoria, and to 3cm near Richmond where 33.2mm felll in 35 minutes. A second storm dropped 30mm in the hour to 5pm on the automatic weather station near Moss Vale.

Winds gusted to 122km/h atop Mt Wellington behind Hobart in the wake of yesterday's change.
