Deluge on Norfolk Island
Norfolk Island Airport recorded 70mm in two hours to 11.30 this morning. An active cloudband has been streaming across the island yesterday and today, feeding around the low that gave heavy rain to the NSW coast early in the week. The low is slow-moving, and the island recorded 51mm for the day ended 9am in a succession of thunderstorms. 83mm fell between 9am and 1pm, making up a total of 134mm in 30 hours to 3pm.
