Developing trough brings widespread rain to NSW, S Qld
A surface trough which has been developing through central southern Queensland and central and southeastern NSW over the past few days began to produce significant rainfall over the area today. Heaviest falls were on the NSW Central Western Plains and South Coast. Coonamble recorded 28mm between 9am and 3pm, while on the South Coast, Moruya Heads registered 36.2mm overnight to 9am, with a further 44mm falling to 6pm. In Queensland, light hail was reported from a thunderstorm at St George late afternoon, but rainfall totals were light.
