Cold nights across the top of the continent
Overnight temperatures were 8 to 13 below the September average across an area arcing from the WA Pilbara through central NT to central southern Qld. In WA's Kimberley region, Derby broke its 14-year record for the second night in a row, its reading of 9.1 this morning eclipsing yesterday's record-breaking 11.7. Marble Bar, with 7.3°, broke a 44-year record by 1 degree, while in Queensland, Mt Isa Airport possibly recorded its lowest September minimum on record with 1.0° (rounded).
