Heat spreads into western NSW
An early season heatwave that has been moving across southern Australia since Monday gave a very warm night and a hot day to northern SA and western NSW today. In northwestern NSW, Tibooburra recorded a top temperature of 35.5, 11.1° above average, after nearby White Cliffs had reported an overnight minimum of 20.0, also 11.1 above average. Thunderstorms triggered by a weak front/trough system moving across NSW during the afternoon and evening brought scattered thunderstorms, with hail reported from Bathurst, Bowral and Cooma.
