| Continuing cold upper air conditions atop a southeasterly surface stream produced some heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms along the NSW Central and North Coasts today. Ballina Airport recorded nearly 50mm from just before 3pm to just after 6pm, with a 24 hour to 9am Tuesday total of 72mm reported from the town's Crowley Village. Cape Byron's total for the same period was 58.6mm, most of the rain falling today. Farther south, Mt Seaview, in the mountains inland from Port Macquarie, registered 60mm to 9 this morning and a further 54mm to 9am Tuesday. On the NSW Central Coast, Norah Head AWS recorded an isolated heavy 52.8mm in a steady stream of showers between 9am and midnight. |
