QLD: Devastating flooding hits Mackay. Thousands of properties were inundated with water when more than 600 millimetres fell within hours this morning. Two years later, John Gaskin, chairman of the Mackay Reconstruction Task Force, was able to say that most residents have been pleased with the reconstruction effort. "I think it's fair to say that 99 per cent have expressed their complete happiness and acceptance of what they've had done to their homes," he told ABC News.
