10 September: Daily rainfall and temperature data now available for all years of record on AWN. AWN's Recent and Climate section now has Bureau of Meteorology daily rainfall and temperature data available for all years of record, not just the previous 12 months. Other data (evaporation, wind, sunshine and weather) is available back to 2004 and will later be extended back in time.

Rainfall readings have been taken mostly by volunteer observers at nearly 20,000 locations over the past 170 years. The oldest records are for Parramatta NSW (1832), Colombo Creek in the Riverina NSW (1835), Port Arthur TAS (1837) and Adelaide SA (1839). Temperature records for most locations are only available from the mid 1950s as earlier data has not yet been computerised.

6 January: Changes to Rain and Flood maps and data displays. AWN's interface to current rain and flood maps and data from the Bureau of Meteorology has been updated.
