These charts show forecasts from the US Global Forecasting System (GFS) prepared by Wetterzentrale and two Bureau of Meteorology models. They break down rainfall forecasts into 6- or 3-hourly time-steps and allow comparison across three major models. The US and ACCESS-Global models are shown in 6-hourly time-steps. The higher resolution ACCESS-Regional charts show 3-hourly time-steps. IMPORTANT! The charts are presented side-by-side to make it easier to see variations between models in the forecast amount, distribution and timing of rainfall. I have tried to align charts so they cover the same periods, but at some times of day they will be misaligned because of different update times. Look for the magic word "VALID" in a corner of each chart to check for any misalignment. The times and dates on all charts are UTC which is now . Click on any chart to open a larger version in a new window. Caution: The GFS charts, which come from Wetterzentrale, are sometimes plotting wrongly, giving some crazy patterns.
