TAS: Windy as fronts sweep through. The surface charts below show two fronts sweeping across TAS today, each freshening westerly winds to gale force in exposed areas. Strongest wind gusts came with the passage of the second front mid-afternoon, when Maatsuyker Island reported 104km/h, Scotts Peak Dam in the South West 100, and Strahan Airport and Mt Wellington summit 98km/h. Temperatures fell rapidly behind the second front, with highland snow beginning during the evening.
