QLD: Warm in the south

The same conditions that brought heat to the Sydney region yesterday gave southern QLD a late taste of summer today. The most notable anomaly was at Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt high country. In 44 years of computerised record, Stanthorpe has never recorded a temperature, in any month, above 38.0°. Today's maximum of 30.0 is just 0.6 below the station's highest April temperature on record.
