NSW, QLD: Heavy coastal showers

A few heavy showers occurred from the NSW Mid North Coast to the Sunshine Coast of QLD in unstable onshore winds behind a weak trough. Port Macquarie recorded 45.0mm in the 24 hours to 9am, 22.4 of which fell in the hour to 11pm last night, and there were a number of totals between 30 and 40mm in the area. On the Sunshine Coast, heavy rain began this afternoon, giving Maroochydore 26.0mm in the hour to 5pm, and further heavy showers continued through the night.
